Student of our Faculty wins at the Universal Human Rights Logo Competition
From over 15,000 submissions, from more than 190 countries, Predrag Stakić, student of our faculty, wins at the Universal Human Rights Logo Competition in Germany /
“One logo can’t change the world, including this one. But this logo is a symbol which could gather people – and people can change the world”, those were Predrag’s words after the final results.
Furniture & Interior Design has been laid on the foundations of Wood Industry Division founded in 1956 at the University of Belgrade-Faculty of Forestry, the first to educate highly qualified engineers for the growing furniture & wood industry in nonaligned Yugoslavia.
Group was initiated in 2004 by professors Dušan Skakić & Sokol Sokolović / shaped through mentorship of Prof. Jelena Matić to create new graduates for the industry, trained in Idea+Production+Promotion to respond with innovative products & interiors adapted to industry, users and environment.
Challenged in open workshops supported by Center for machines and tools & Institute of Furniture Quality Control, students materialize ideas, rethink function, material, communication and incorporate sustainable methods. In connection to the industry & creative sector they sense the market, promote the work internationally.
Interaction + mentorship resulted in support of the Ministry of Science & Environment, while a number of projects entered the production and the University of Belgrade Furniture Collection. The Group aims to develop new products and save wood; Holds open workshops to advocate a new sustainable creation.
